A day before the much awaited “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodha, devotees are organising “Shobha Yatras” all over India. In Ludhiana too huge enthusiasm is being witnessed amongst the people and on Sunday “Yatras” were organised in several areas. In city’s posh area Model Town, the residents of Fan Palm Welfare Society organised a “Shobha Yatra” which drew huge attention as people from all walks of life and all ages participated in it.

The “Shobha Yatra” started from park of the society after paying obeisance to lord Rama by society’s president Vinod Sehgal, Secretary Mukesh Sahani, Devinder Sahani, Dr. Chanbir Singh, Ajay Sehgal, Rewa Thapar, Romi Sehgal, Manita Sahani, Satish Batta, Vicky Berry, Raju Makkar, Suresh Goyal, Manjit Bitla , Balkrishan Luthra, Shamsher Singh and others.

After this the procession was held in front of all houses of society and the “Shobha Yatra” then proceeded for Model Town Market. Enroute the Yatra was welcomed by devotees in front of their homes, who had also put up stalls of prashad of different kinds, tea and eatables. The Yatra organisers and participants along with chanting slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” also sang bhajans and distributed Prasad to the people enroute.

Upon reaching the Model Town Main market the procession was welcomed by Amarjit Singh the president of market and other shopkeepers and then by Arya Samaj Model Town Committee including Rakesh Jain, Captain Syal, Vyas Bembi and several prominent residents including Raman Chopra, Rishi Chopra etc.

Others who were part of the this illustrious “Shobha Yatra” included , Mahjit Devgun , Vaibhav Sehgal, Abhinav Sehgal, Samarpan Sahani,Jolly Goyal, Rahul Behl, Vivek Sehgal, Sandeep Narula, Karan Berry, Navjot Sharma, Prabhjot Sharma etc.

In its final phase the “Shobha Yatra” reached Shri Krishna Mandir Model Town where it was given a grand welcome by the committee of Shri Krishna Mandir and Charitable Society led by president Khushbhakt Rai Auplish and the procession ended at Fan Palm Welfare Society park where a langar was also organised by committee.
