NCB Strike: Seizes Hawala Operators Assets in Ludhiana, in International Drug Trafficking case

In a big development Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Unit Chandigarh on Monday conducted a seizure operation in Ludhiana in connection with Akshay Chhabra International Drug Trafficking case.

A team of NCB seized Rs. 36 lakh worth house hold goods from Dugri home or Surinder Kalra who is one of the accomplices of Chhabra and is absconding after NCB started hunting him down for his involvement in this notorious drugs racket.

According to sources in NCB, "Surinder Kalra, a resident of Urban Estate-II, Dugri, Ludhiana, Punjab, India, fled to Dubai on November 18, 2022, after the arrest of Sandeep Singh Nijjer with 20.3 kilograms of heroin at Ludhiana, Punjab on November 15, 2022, NCB. Surinder Kalra is a known associate of Akshay Chabra, a drug smuggler and kingpin in NCB Cr no 79/2022/CZU, and he runs a hawala business with a base in Dubai, UAE" "Surinder Kalra is directly/indirectly involved in illegal activities such as drug trafficking, terrorism financing, and money laundering. He was importing goods in containers in UAE in the name of his firm IMPEX OVERSEAS GENERAL TRADING DUBAI, and the possibility of concealing drugs in the same cannot be ruled out. He was also trying to facilitate the escape of Akshay Chabra & Ajay Kumar@ Gora to UAE, but they were apprehended on November 25, 2022, at Jaipur International Airport" said the source.
