Notorious drug lord Akshay Chhabra & Jaspal Singh @ Goldy, have been ordered to be detained under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act. Both of them will be detained in Dibrugarh, Assam, which is a step to curtail their narco smuggling activities.

It is pertinent to mention that both Akshay Chhabra and Jaspal Goldy despite of being in jail in NCB Cr. No. 79/2022/CZU continued their nefarious activities resulting in lodging of 03 additional FIRs under NDPS Act against Akshay Chhabra and 01 additional FIR under NDPS Act against Jaspal Singh @ Goldy. This is second such action taken by NCB wherein efforts are being made towards breaking the jail-based drug mafia link in the region. The first action was taken against Balwinder Singh @ Billa Havellian on August 13th 2024.

It is recapitulated that Akshay Chhabra (Kingpin) was arrested from Jaipur International Airport while he was attempting to flee the country to Sharjah, UAE on November 24th 2022. Further, during the course of investigation in NCB Cr. No. 79/2022/CZU the name of Jaspal Singh @ Goldy cropped up as the one of the main member of the Akshay Chhabra drug syndicate. Investigations have revealed that this international drug syndicate based in Ludhiana had smuggled close to 1400 plus kgs of heroin from ICP Attari, Punjab, Mundra Sea Port , Gujarat & J & K. 20 persons have been arrested in NCB Cr. No. 79/2022/CZU including the kingpin, traffickers , white collar criminals & two afghan nationals.

Till date, interalia the following seizures have been made in NCB Cr. No. 79/2022/CZU 40 Kgs of Heroin, 0.557 Kgs of Opium, 23.645 Kgs suspected Narcotics powder, 04 bottles of HCL, 31 live bullets & 01 magazine. 02 factories/heroin processing hideouts of this group have also been busted. Till now, more than 57 Cr. Immovable / movable properties of this drug syndicate have been freezed by NCB Chandigarh Zonal Unit.The NCB remains committed in its mission to dismantle drug trafficking networks.
