In a major development amidst extreme cold gripping the state, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday declared holidays in all schools till 10^th class (including private schools) till January 14. The announcement made by CM Mann comes as a big relief to the students and their parents who were deeply concerned by schools being operational despite such weather conditions. CM Mann’s decision which he conveyed on his social media account says, “Keeping in view extreme cold it has been decided to keep all government and private schools of state till class 10^th closed from 8^th January till 14^th January”

Meanwhile the state government has fixed timings of schools for classes 10+1 and 10+2 from 10:00 AM till 03:00 PM daily as no holidays have been declared for these classes.
