On March 6, 2024, ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana, marked International Women's Day with a specialized training for 250+ women farmers mobilized by GT Bharat from Barnala, Moga, and Ludhiana in Punjab. The program, under the Scheduled Caste sub-plan, focused on processing of Groundnut-based dairy analogues. The valedictory event featured Upinderjeet Kaur Brar (PCS), Assistant Commissioner, Ludhiana as the special guest, emphasizing women's independence.

Dr. Ranjeet Singh presented an overview of institute activities and provided training on groundnut processing. Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, ICAR-CIPHET Director, congratulated all the women participants on the celebration of International Women’s Day and emphasized the event's crucial role in empowering women in agro-processing and reaffirmed the institute's unwavering support for those in food processing business. The event, concluded with the celebration of International women’s day, distribution of beneficiary items and the release of a manual on groundnut-based analogues to empower women farmers.
