24th May every year is celebrated as World Schizophrenia Day internationally to raise awareness and recognition of economic, social and culture impact brought by this disease. Dr Rupesh Chaudhry, Chief of Psychiatry informed everyone present that this disease is present in one in 300 people world wide. The age onset is 15-20 years and the major symptoms are.Hearing of Voices, Suspiciousness, Wandering behaviour, Seeing or Hearing things which are not there, poor self care, self lauging and self talking.

On this occasion, Dr. O P Arora, chief neurologist, and managing Director of Arora Neuro centre Mall Road welcomed Ex Prof of Psychiatry DMC and Hospital Dr Rupesh Chaudhry and assured the public that all the diseases related to Psychiatry including child behaviour and psychosexual and drug Deaddiction will be treated scientifically in this multisuperspeciality hospital.

Dr. Gaurav Sachdeva senior Physician discussed about the medical factors associated with this disease specially Diabetes and Hypertension , Dr. Neharika Arora Sareen said that today awareness pamphlets are being distributed and refreshment is also being served to all the patients.
