Noted industrialist and MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora has extended his commitment to bolster sports infrastructure at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). During the 57th Annual Athletic Meet inauguration, Arora urged PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal to submit a formal proposal for the establishment of a cutting-edge indoor sports stadium within the PAU Campus.

Arora, serving as the chief guest at the event, highlighted the Central Government's initiative, Khelo India, which allocates funds for the development of indoor sports stadiums nationwide. He assured that upon receipt of the proposal from VC PAU, he would advocate for its approval and implementation with the Union Ministry of Sports.

Commending the participating athletes, Arora conveyed his best wishes to all competitors. He expressed delight in witnessing exemplary sportsmanship displayed by students from various on-campus and off-campus colleges, along with outstation institutes associated with PAU.

Acknowledging the athletic achievements, Arora congratulated the winners of the 100-meter race, with Avinash Singh setting a new record by completing the race in 10 seconds. He emphasized PAU's legacy of nurturing not only agricultural and scientific excellence but also fostering talented sports personalities and artists.

In his address, Arora underscored the pivotal role of sports in holistic personality development. He encouraged students to actively engage in sports activities, citing its benefits in promoting health and resilience in facing life's challenges.

During the ceremony, Arora, alongside Chairman Mandi Board, ceremonially raised the University flag, released colorful balloons, and saluted the participating sports teams. He also presented medals to the event's winners.

The event, graced by guest of honor HS Barsat, Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board, was attended by PAU Registrar Rishi Pal Singh, as well as Nirmal Singh Jaura and Harpreet Singh Sandhu, among others.
