In a major reshuffle in the State GST (SGST) department ahead of Loksabha Elections 2024, several Deputy Commissioners State Taxes (DCST) , Assistant Commissioner State Taxes (ACST) and State Taxation Officers (STO) have been changed. The biggest and most talked about change is the transfer of DCST Ludhiana Darvir Raj, which comes as surprise for many. Darvir Raj has been shifted as DCST Faridkot Division. Meanwhile Randhir Kaur who was DCST Faridkot has been appointed as DCST Ludhiana and she has taken over the charge too. Notably Kaur earlier also served as the DCST of Ludhiana and had done lot of anti evasion operations. Taxpayers and tax consultants are jubilant over appointment of Kaur and on Tuesday senior advocate and vice chairman of AIFTP Punjab Varinder sharma welcomed DCST Randhir Kaur on taking over charge of Ludhiana Division. Meanwhile in other changes, Harsimrat Kaur has been appointed as DCST Ropar Division along with the additional charge of DCST (GST,Policy) and PSDT Head Office Patiala. Maninderdeep Kaur Sidhu has been appointed as DCST head office and has also been given additional charge of VAT, Legacy & coordination. Lastly DS Garcha has been appointed as DCST (A) Ferozepur (HQ at Bathinda).
