In a matter of great pride for Punjab and the industrial city of Ludhiana, AP Refinery Private Limited has become the largest producer of refined rice bran oil in India. This venture, owned by the Goyal family, has been among the top three rice bran oil producers in the country for the past decade and has now surpassed the remarkable milestone of producing 56,000 metric tons last year. AP Refinery has also emerged as a leading oil packer in India, manufacturing and packaging for major brands including Saffola, Fortune, Patanjali, Reliance, and Modicare.
The promoter brothers, Ravi Goyal and Arun Goyal, whose long-term vision initiated the rice bran oil revolution in Punjab, credit their family's consistent focus on quality and customer-centricity for AP Refinery's outstanding achievements.
The company’s promoters were honored with the prestigious BK Goenka Award from the Solvent Extractors' Association of India at its annual awards ceremony in Mumbai on September 18, 2024. The award was presented by Professor Vijay Paul Sharma (Chairman , CPCA, Delhi) and Dorab Mistery (Director, Godrej International Ltd) who commended the owners for their exceptional contributions to the industry.
The Company began operations in the 2000s as a solvent extraction plant for rice bran and has since expanded across the edible oil refining value chain. Starting with an initial capacity of 75 tonnes per day (TPD) at their fully backward-integrated plant in Jagraon, Ludhiana, the company now boasts a refining capacity of over 250 TPD. Notably, the company has also been at the forefront of protecting the environment. Over the past few years, the company has set up multiple boilers based on paddy straw. They plan to use over 50,000 MT paddy straw this year.
